@AcademicChatter @PhdSemblance I’ve encountered no barriers within academia for being #firstgen. It’s been irrelevant.

Outside academia though...constantly explaining why I ‘haven’t got a proper job yet’ whilst I complete my PhD and hold down 3 field-related jobs but not *the* job gets tiresome... 🙄

@DavidTaylor_uk I’ll probably be working more this summer than ever before. I always teach right through summer but it’s sporadic depending on holidays etc but looks like this year most people won’t be going anywhere so business as usual! Plus, implementing a couple of new ventures as have time!

Don’t worry, I’m not either! So draw some lines and start creating #music and #composing in a super easy and quick way! All music has shape so why not start with that, rather than #notes and #rhythms 👍

@Hermesparcels Having to tweet you AGAIN! How can I make a complaint about one of your drivers seriously breaching social distancing rules and refusing to do his job? No PPE, close in my face & could feel his breath, wouldn’t collect parcels from the flat like every other driver.

Student won’t play scales in #piano lesson?

Easy solution! Get them to turn the electric piano to a ‘doo’ #choir sound and playing all their scales at a ridiculously low pitch so they sound like @bbcdoctorwho #Dalek scales! 😂

@Robertson13961 In terms of my research I’ve got the originality part nailed and am rather happy with the extent my thesis does that. But I’ve completely neglected to articulate that properly in my lit review and indeed probably anywhere so far so that it stands out and can’t be questioned!
