Construction crew from Signet Golf making it look easy as they put down the 13th truck load of capillary concrete this week! 3 more today if the weather holds out
Signet Golf Associates has been killing it this past week. We can’t wait to see the final product. The concrete process began today with 3 trucks—totaling 27 cubic yards of capillary concrete. Concrete will continue throughout the week, weather depending.
Shifting winter temperatures bring the risk of serious course damage if the surface thaws and soil is frozen below. Footsteps or cart traffic can cause soil to slide, damaging grass roots. Watch this short video to learn more 👇
Our bunker renovation is coming along nicely. 4th day of work and the front side bunkers are nearly finished. Concrete portion begins Monday if Mother Nature allows. We greatly appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue improvements.
The cold/wet weather has not been ideal for golf but has given us time to make other much needed improvements. Redoing tee markers and cleaning up #6 green was a big focus for us this week, even through the rain.
Here’s a great photo I used for one of my assignments. This is the amount of footfall a 4 ball will do on 1 green. Going into winter understand why your greenstaff will protect the greens at all costs. Whether they’re frozen or wet, you can see how much wear they will have. 1/2
With extreme heat in many parts of the U.S. superintendents will be implementing defensive management practices to reduce turf stress. Greens might be a little slower than usual, but that's always better than experiencing significant turf loss.
These two bunkers weathered the same storm on Friday, both received almost 3 inches of rain in a 12 hour period. The only difference is one bunker was renovated with capillary concrete. Can you guess which one has the capillary!?
We greatly appreciate the patience and understanding for having delayed tee times this morning. It has allowed us to catch up on fly mowing of bunker faces and also spread some fertilizer throughout the golf course. We will be CPO to help prevent any tracking of the fertilizer.
Played golf at my course yesterday afternoon & for the most part golf course was good but the lack of employees on the course can be seen just about everywhere! Add a tremendously busy golf course and a wet “slow” spring makes the struggles real Hoping to get it figured out soon!
