In athletic development, not many pre-puberty achievements matter. Global movement competency foundation and injury history do matter, though. Play multiple sports, experience a wide variety of stimuli, and don't get hurt. Specific adaptations come later.
Reason #3 injury prevention
Being stronger and more coordinated will reduce the risk of injury. Being prepared physically will allow you to be equipped for the intense demands of baseball. Strength training will help you perform at a high level longer
Reason #2 Enhanced Power
Strength and force is the foundation of power. Without sufficient strength you will not be able to produce enough power for high velocity throws or hits

📲 DM "N3XTUP" to start your journey to becoming a standout player. No more excuses—let's grind! ⚾️
If you're a high school baseball player and you're not meeting these metrics, then you have no excuse for not being in the gym striving to improve at least 3 times a week.
Isaias Torres (‘28 FL) lines this one to LCF for a triple to start the inning. Really projects in the power department, but some already flashing with his physical frame. #WWBA@Florida_PG
I hope in 2024 more baseball athletes start to prioritize :
-Strength training > Showcases
-Sprinting > Distance running
-Nutrition > Skipping meals
-Recovery > Hitting & Throwing everyday
-Sleep > Fornite till 3 am
-Hydration & electrolytes > sugary drinks
