Nerd out inbound-
There are facts here, but they are misplaced. Edison was the first to discover that putting a carbonized filament into a vacuum would prevent it from burning out rapidly when electricity passed through it, and thus invented the lightbulb.
He did this on the back of a few other Canadian, German, American, and English inventors who over the course of 70 years, had created the prices for him to assemble the the first commercial lightbulb. Edison is credited with this invention, but it took many discoveries over time to happen.
The only black inventor in this story, Latimer (who this man is taking about), created an improved carbonized filament to make the bulb last longer which was a useful improvement. Latimer did not work for Edison, he worked for a rival company called U.S. Electric Lighting Company.
It’s unfair to say any one person totally invented the lightbulb, but Latimer surely did not invent it.
The Pharaoh thought he was a god.
The Roomba had other plans.

@valueinvestor@Geiger_Capital Yes, we need to make sure politicians can be bought over and are making decisions for the nation based on how they will impact their portfolios - not what’s good for the people.
