Ahoy, there is now a CuTEL Discord server - https://t.co/AixzjCUT9t
We'll be talking about phones / communications things and planning for future events.
Ahoy! We're hoping to operate some "wholesale" ADSL & VDSL at EMF this year.
If you're an ISP (Commercial or Hobbyist) you'll be able to host your own LNS so people can use your network, with either properly routed IPs, CGNAT, or DN42.
Let us know if you're interested π
We're doing some Viewdata and Econet things this weekend at @tnmoc
This is the first proper outing for the Cisco VG310, which provides 24 lines of the finest TDM telephony, connected via ISDN to an AS5350 which contains 120 modems, supporting 300 baud up to 56k π₯
We're on the look out for a ~32U rack around Hertfordshire, ideally a basic cage style and ~600mm deep.
Let us know if you know of one that's available.
It's #BlockParty this weekend, and we're celebrating the 50th anniversary of Teletext in style - not only will there be talks, demos and hands-on displays, there'll even be live music in the evening courtesy of @thecubanboys! #teletext#viewdata#livemusic https://t.co/6ZwYin002d
@LaF0rge Very true, although these are designed to not exceed the 1U size specifically for the VG224. They'll fit on other hardware but might obstruct other ports etc
We've started experimenting with some breakout boards for the Cisco VG224s that break out 6x RJ45s with 4 lines on each, eliminating the need for a bulky/expensive RJ21 cable.
They should be <Β£15. Is anyone interested? Let us know so we can order some parts.
One minor whinge, a couple of the public phones at EMF ended up with there numbers scrawled on them in permanent marker.
This is somewhat unhelpful at the next event when numbers change - please stick to stickers!
We only sold about ~20 of the RJ45 to BT 431A adapters at EMF this year which is always pleasing as it means people are going to the effort of making their own.
Did you make up a hacky Master Socket? We'd love to see some photos if you did.
