I counted like 10m barrels of oil moving through the Omani corridor today, idk if the IRGC realizes how little credibility their threats have at this point. Gonna have to do something crazy or take the L
🕷️🦟🐀 I DESPISE TICKS, MOSQUITOES, & BILL GATES.
So I spent yrs scouring scientific publications w/1 mission:
Find the Best natural tick & mosquito protection in existence.
If you don't want to be Bill Gates' lab rat this summer, you Need to read this post.
In order to protect ourselves from the creepy, new Bill Gates GMO f'd with ticks & skeeters, they tell us our options are:
• drench your skin & clothes with in highly neurotoxic, readily absorbable synthetic chemicals like Permethrin & DEET (which dissolves plastic on contact, BTW).
• when those fail, Bomb your gut w/antibiotics (doxycycline) —which cause more health problems.
But naturally-minded people like me realize those options are unacceptable. So we try the alternative options:
• over the counter essential oil based sprays that don't really work (then spend hours scratching or picking off ticks...)
• making homemade bug spray based on internet rumors, that contain 10-20 drops of random essential oils or vanilla...and hope & pray it works (it doesn't)
• consider giving up...hiding indoors permanently. Missing the fleeting, essential beauty that only nature in summertime can offer.
I'm here to present a better option: USE NATURAL THINGS THAT ACTUALLY WORK —backed by real studies & data.
Most people don't know this, but there are some incredible studies showing that specific essential oils & natural compounds, that when used in the right concentration, work BETTER THAN DEET & PERMETHRIN.
For both ticks AND mosquitoes. In real world, human bait conditions.
When I say "right concentration," I don't mean 20 drops or 2-5%, like most natural sprays. The real data actually shows a much higher percent (30%+) is needed for actual efficacy.
And when I say "specific" essential oils/compounds," I'm not talking about the ones you've heard of like citronella, geranium, cedarwood, or vanilla. The common "bug repellent" essential oils...are actually are some of the Least effective options.
Here's what I learned after DOZENS of hrs studying:
• NATURAL BUG SPRAYS SUCK —you're not imagining things. When put to the test in the real world on human subjects, there are actually several studies proving that the current commercial natural mosquito repellents can't even begin to compare to chemicals like DEET & permethrin.
• CATNIP WORKS —this is crazy, but CATNIP essential oil is INCREDIBLE at repelling mosquitoes & ticks. It's due to a compound in it called Nepetalactone. It's safe for humans, but irritates the hell out of bugs. This is actually one of the reasons that cats go crazy for it —helps them stay safe from bugs.
- a 2021 study found that catnip oil "demonstrated significant tick repellency, being comparable to DEET as used in commercial products."
- in a study published in the journal of Parasitology Research, the mosquito repellency effect of 41 different essential oils were tested (using human hands as bait). CATNIP essential oil came out on top!
• LITSEA WORKS —there's a plant that's common in Asia, but virtually unknown in the west, called Litsea Cubeba. When researchers tested the essential oil's efficacy as a tick & mosquito repellent, the results were phenomenal.
Importantly: litsea cubeba essential oil exhibits strong acaricidal (tick-killing) and repellent properties against various tick species. Its active component is citral, which disrupts the tick's nervous system. In other words: it can harm or kill ticks on contact. They hate it.
- ! Amazingly: preliminary studies also suggest Litsea cubeba may exhibit strong activity against the persistent, resistant forms of Borrelia burgdorferi (the bacteria that causes Lyme Disease).
- a 2021 study showed that it provided excellent repellence (100%) against nymphs and adult ticks for over 60 min post-application.
- a 2015 study showed that Litsea Cubeba essential oil beat out several other essential oils & performed as well as DEET against mosquitoes, and was effective for at least 2 hours after application.
• GERANIOL WORKS —Geraniol is a compound that's naturally-occurring in several essential oils. However, the % that's in essential oils is often low (for example, Geranium oil can contain as low as 6% geraniol).
Studies show that when a higher % of pure geraniol is used, it's one of the best things ever for tick repellency. Especially when applied to clothing, such as socks. It also works for skeeters.
- when 5% geraniol was compared with 15% DEET against several tick species, including blacklegged/deer ticks, lone star ticks, American dog ticks, and brown dog ticks....it showed very high repellency at 2.5–3.5 hours, close to DEET in efficacy.
- An "in the field" test showed significantly fewer ticks were collected from socks worn by human volunteers that were treated geraniol compared to those treated with DEET for 3.5 hrs after treatment.
• KEY COMBINATIONS ...ARE KEY —several studies also show that when these natural oils are combined with other key oils/compounds, efficacy can be enhanced greatly.
The more angles you hit w/diff compounds, the better you cover your bases against different species of ticks & skeeters.
For example, when catnip & litsea were combined, efficacy shot up even higher. And when effective essential oils were combined with vanillin (present in vanilla), it helped the essential oils stay fixed to skin —thus making the anti-bug efficacy last much longer.
There are also a few other oils like clove (that ticks hate), that performed well & could potentially boost efficacy even more.
• WHY DON'T COMMERCIAL BUG SPRAYS CONTAIN THESE if they work so well?? —well, Dupont Chemical corporation actually tried to make & patent a chemical version of nepetalactone (the active ingredient in catnip oil), so they could profit off of it. I'm unsure if that's still in the works.
But the main reason you can't find these essential oils in commercial products is that they're expensive.
For example, for catnip oil it takes Many plants to produce just a tiny bit of oil. So you can occasionally find a natural spray with catnip oil as an ingredient in it...but it's always a VERY LOW (& totally ineffective) amount.
Also, on it's own, catnip oil smells pretty Funky...(though there's a fix for this that I discovered).
Eventually, after all my research, & a lot of trial & error —I was able to craft the best bug spray ever. It contains everything I spoke about above, & more.
It's completely transformed my experience of summertime (I have lowkey traumatic memories of being assaulted by mosquitoes every summer —they Love me!).
And given all the weird sh*t we're seeing right now w/ticks & mosquitoes, I'm so, so glad I have this. I'll NEVER go another summer unprotected ever again.
I only offer this bug spray —I call it Skeeter Beater —to my friends & to people here on X.
And I only offer a limited amount of it, for a limited time, every year.
It always sells out.
