@disengagethesim @LockedOnSooners Well you're technically correct. Bradford wasn't on the roster and I thought he was a true freshman red shirting. He was actually a true freshman the next season. Thompson took over in 2006 for Bhomar and Bradford followed.

@Rylan_Stiles two days ago, I think we all had a strong believe the opportunity for Topic and Sorber in a Thunder uniform had closed.

It is wide open right now and unfortunately, neither can play to fill it. Everyone showed up HUGE tonight. Topic is sitting and other young guys are taking his shot away again.

We had a weakness at wing anyway. We need a big athletic wing.

We have assets right now that need moved. We go into the league with draft picks, rookies and whatever it takes and we secure a guy. If we can find someone on a 1 year expiring that fits the culture, we spend whatever it takes.

This is a do or die year.

All of this makes missing Oweh even worse.

This should have been the thunders best team. This would have been their best roster before they had to move a piece off. Instead, they are a shambles for weeks and then they've got to figure out how much they want to tear down now rather than pay tax to be a second round out.

Maybe we begin the Mara era early and see about burning in stirtz this season immediately.

It looked like a broken leg to me. As long as he avoids tendon damage, he can get back this year. This is terrible.

I think all the national hate at this point needs to stop. These are good dudes. They aren't in trouble, they're smart, they're for each other and this SUCKS.

Its time to rally for these guys. Dub has been through so much. I'm so glad we got that title because I can't imagine the echo chamber right now if we'd lost it.

What may be missed here by a younger audience is how much smaller the world was mid 90s and earlier. How many fewer entertainment options we had.

Younger people don't understand how huge cultural icons became. Worldwide icons like Jerry Lewis built recognition globally that lasted their life.

Lewis was certainly less known by that point, but even I knew who he was from movies and his charity work. I didn't get it. But then, I didn't grow up with it.

I even knew Dean Martin and Sammy from things like Cannonball Run.
I would have had to tell those women to pull their heads out. That would be like being involved in sports, opening the door for Charles Barkley and not knowing it.

My Jerry Lewis story made me question the BBC for the rest of my career.

As a student, I did work experience on a show investigating dodgy hypnotists. I travelled with two female BBC producers to Blackpool to interview a victim (you don’t want to know).

At the hotel, a man was walking out as I walked in. We both held the door and stared at each other.
“After you,” I said.
“No, after you, young man”, he replied.
I smiled, thanked him, and we passed.
I turned to the producers: “Do you know who that was?”
“Nope,” one said, in a tone suggesting I shouldn’t be making eye contact, let alone talking.
“That was Jerry Lewis.”
They stared. “Who?”
“Jerry Lewis. Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis?”
More staring. “Never heard of him.”
“You’ve never heard of Jerry Lewis?” Internally, I was furious. Externally, I was still trying to get a job in TV.
“Is he someone we’re interviewing?” one asked.
“No.”
“Then I’m not interested,” she snapped. “Put the gear over there.”

What struck me wasn’t Jerry Lewis being in Blackpool (I found out later that he was filming Funny Bones). It was that these two women were producers with almost no knowledge of entertainment history, TV or film. I know this because I spent the rest of the week asking them very easy questions they couldn't or wouldn't answer. Yet they’re the people who decide what YOU should watch and what YOU’LL find interesting.

After 25 years of being stuck in tiny edit suites with people like this (and honestly, it’s the norm), I could write a book about idiotic TV decision-makers who think they’re the smartest in the room and make choices based on what they assume YOUR intelligence level is.
