A hortus siccus? #Botany and #horticulture go back a very long way. This is just part of a fantastic display put on by Gen Herb curator Jacek today for a tour looking at the relationship between gardening and taxonomic botany from the late 1600s to today.
Frances Harriet Henslow ~ daughter of Darwin's mentor John #Henslow and wife of Kew's former director Joseph Hooker ~ was born #OnThisDay in 1825. This bracelet of carved #peach stones was donated by her to the Museum of #EconomicBotany
