I will admit that I’m an American who’s getting into soccer because of this World Cup, but I don’t give a shit because I’m genuinely excited to watch so much soccer and run so many miles and make so much bread this fall.

Long runs around town just feel like work. Yeah they’re fun and there’s a bunch of hills around, but there’s a certain bit of magic that I feel every time I run on trails that can never be captured while road running. Makes me feel like a little kid again.

@JackMac That’s a narrow mindset. We dump money into everything, but money doesn’t correlate to skill development. It starts at the lowest level, and the US doesn’t have that because those “with the most talent” get expedited far too early so that the shmucks can make money off them

If you are confused by the term “rape culture,” this week's UFC is a perfect explainer.

Conor McGregor is a rapist. He viciously attacked a woman; assaulted her so badly the paramedic who examined her testified to being shocked at the bruising.

Yet everyone involved in this week's event are presenting it as business as usual. With notable exceptions inc @lthomasnews, @PetesyCarroll , @benfowlkesMMA and @mmaonpoint, there is a silent agreement to pretend this vile crime never happened.

And THAT is rape culture: when a horrific, proven finding shrugged off as an inconvenient footnote - because the perpetrator is famous, profitable and drives clicks.
