The International Criminal Court is a jobs program for an international ‘elite’ that is not actually impressive. Most international organizations are like this. The idea that anyone should submit to a fake court is silly.
@RadioGenoa Meloni has hunt with the hare and ran with the hounds - just like other Eurocrats. Right-wing politicians have to stand by the electorate, or go.
This is one of the most important moments ever aired on CNBC.
Billionaire investor Chamath Palihapitiya says the media lied to millions of Americans about President Trump, and that after going back to the original source material, he realized he had been completely misled about Trump’s character.
PALIHAPITIYA: “The reality is that most of us were lied to by the media about President Trump.”
“And if you just go back to the source material, you should take away two things.”
“One, he didn’t say half the things he said, and two, why did these other people just fabricate what they wanted to say so that they could essentially assassinate his character?”
“I think that that second thing is completely unacceptable in America, and there’s still been no repercussions, really.”
“I took the time to learn about it. I admitted where…you know, the way that I met him was, I admitted on the pod, which, you know, has millions of viewers.”
“And I said, I got it totally wrong because I went and I watched Charlottesville.”
“And, you know, the first person to call me? President Trump.”
“And I got to know him and I put the phone down, I called my wife, and I said, we got it TOTALLY, totally wrong. We were lied to.”
“And then I got to know him and he is fantastic!”

Important read by Niamh Uí Bhriain:
"I’m not going to be shut up by anyone on this issue, and neither are an increasing number of Irish women who can see through the pretence and the deflection and are not willing to allow women to continue to be collateral damage in the establishment’s dangerous obsession with increasing uncontrolled immigration into Ireland. We won’t be gaslighted on this issue."

@higginsdavidw Funny, because neither is inherently correct.
It depends entirely on whether they use air cold or water based chillers depending on each centre design. Water based are more efficient but rely on water evaporation to disperse heat - having a closed loop system doesn’t change that
@mattyglesias You can literally ask ChatGPT to explain why it doesn’t treat scenarios equally depending on gender applied, and itll tell you “I’m weighted to approach as so, even if not inherently fair”
This post embodies ‘talk confidently about something about which you know nothing’ mindset
@griptmedia Its what the EU has become, a non-elected technocracy with untouchable bureaucrats destroying rights of citizens and sovereignty of nations - they forced through Chat Control despite it being defeated in parliament and yet talk about ‘democracy’.
EU in current form needs to end.
Spain: language test + 60% civics exam for citizenship.
Germany: B1 + 33-question civics test.
France: mandatory civic exam from 2026.
Ireland: neither.
The Taoiseach says this shouldn't change.
I disagree. Time to match the European norm.
I’ve no idea why anybody let alone a leader of a country would oppose a requirement for people to demonstrate that they have made a significant effort to assimilate into society before awarding them citizenship. It’s common sense. Why are our politicians so lacking in it?
@SITARMS@CormacLucey@OCallaghanJim I read the entirety of that report, it was a sham.
Commisioned by the justice dept, and based entirely upon applying a literature review of other studies abroad, to Ireland, for the period from 2008 to 2018 I.e. when Irish citizens were at their highest burden post crash.
The Irish government plan is the fastest increase in net spending in the EU, and we have nothing to show for it but hotels occupied by foreign chancers. They've done everything in their power to ensure the temporary bump in tax receipts was of virtually no benefit to the Irish. This needs to be a punishable offence.
