@abc15 Phoenix is in the Sonoran Desert
The added concrete and asphalt has created an even hotter heat island
Plus, itโs the summer in Arizona, itโs gonna get hot, Iโm a native Arizonan and summers are always hot
Neighborhoods in South and West Phoenix are getting hotter, faster, with tree canopy coverage as low as 2% in some areas. ๐ณโ๏ธ https://t.co/I08N5qxSRE

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos says he's "still positive" the Nancy Guthrie case will be resolved โ more than 25 weeks after the 84-year-old mother of "Today" co-host Savannah Guthrie was abducted from her Tucson home in a violent home invasion.
Investigators are still sorting through massive amounts of DNA evidence and video footage, Nanos said in a new interview.
His remarks came hours after Savannah Guthrie released a new video plea on Instagram urging her mother's abductors to "make the right choice" and lead the family to her mother. A federal source told Fox News that Guthrie consulted with law enforcement before posting the message.
A retired FBI supervisory agent following the case says there are likely terabytes of digital evidence and thousands of leads still being run down โ and until those are exhausted, the case isn't cold.
UNCLAIMED: A $1.2 million reward sits untouched nearly six months after 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie โ mother of "Today" co-host Savannah Guthrie โ was allegedly abducted from her Tucson home. A retired FBI agent says that silence speaks volumes.
Jason Pack, a 21-year FBI veteran and former hostage negotiator, told Fox News Digital the unclaimed money points to a suspect circle bound by "blood, fear, shared exposure" โ not a wide criminal network. The tighter the group, the harder it is to crack. But Pack says these cases often break sideways: an unrelated arrest, a bad breakup, a guilty conscience.
The suspect wore a ski mask and gloves, covered her doorbell camera, and appeared to have cased the home. But Pack believes the plan fell apart fast โ and everything since has been improvisation, not execution.
