On This Day in Hip Hop

On this day in 1986, Afrika Bambaataa & SoulSonic Force released “Planet Rock: The Album”. Planet Rock was a collection of singles that were previously released. The album contained the single “Planet Rock” which is regarded as a pioneering song for Hip Hop as well as, “looking for the perfect beat”.

Who can forget when their song was used in the dance battle of The Proud Family Movie.

On this Day in History 📍

On This Day in 1955, Rosa Parks was arrested for “failing to obey the drivers seat assignment” on a public bus in Montgomery, Alabama. This ignited the famous Montgomery Boycott which lasted from December 5th 1955 till December 20th 1956 after the U.S Supreme Court declared the laws that segregated public buses were unconstitutional.
