The UK announced today that it will contribute funds to Ukraine’s purchase of 16 Jas 39 Gripen E from Sweden.

The UK will provide around €300 million earmarked for the planes as part of a broader aid package.

British companies manufacture over 30% of each Gripen, with the production of components like radar and landing gear supporting thousands of UK jobs.

Ukraine will have a total of 32 Jas 39 Gripen, with 16 of them being the latest Gripen E model.
