Sony has now patented AI that places adverts in game loading screens. They're just absolutely relentless.
(Only positive side is as they've patented it, no one else can copy this scummy practice, not without giving them a shed load of royalties anyway)
On this day 35 years ago, North America got to play with super power for the first time! 🎉
The Super NES had its initial North American launch in August 1991, with Super Mario World, F-Zero, Pilotwings, Gradius III, and SimCity among its launch titles, followed by a wider nationwide release in September. The Super Famicom had already debuted in Japan on November 21, 1990, launching alongside Super Mario World.
The Super Nintendo arrived comparatively late to the fourth-generation 16-bit console wars, competing against systems like the Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx-16. Despite its late start, it ultimately emerged as the best-selling 16-bit console of the era, though I still love Sega, too! 💙
The SNES is still one of my favorite consoles and gave us some of my favorite games, including Final Fantasy VI and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past! I also adore Chrono Trigger, one of the most elegant games ever made, which was released in North America 31 years ago yesterday. ❤️
There are so many other classics I could name like Super Metroid, Donkey Kong Country, EarthBound, Street Fighter II, Super Mario Kart, Secret of Mana, and so many more. The SNES library is amazing!
Playing Super Nintendo always brings a smile to my face and takes me right back to the 16-bit era. And now that I’ve figured out how to make these game dresses, naturally I had to make one for the SNES! 🥰
Happy 35th anniversary to the Super Nintendo! 🎮❤️
