NOTICE OF 2026 POLE INSPECTIONS
Custer PPD has contracted with SBS Inspection, Inc. to inspect and treat approximately 8,000 distribution poles. Inspection work will occur in areas served by the Arnold, Brosius, Garfield, and North Platte substations.
Planned outage: Monday, May 18, 2026, weather permitting. The outage will start at approximately 9:30 a.m. CT and will last approximately 1hour. This is customers off the Dunning substation east of Brewster.
Custer Irrigation Load Control: system loads are being monitored. If loads rise above Wednesday’s load levels, Custer Power may need to control irrigation today and tomorrow.
Planned Outage: Thursday, May 14, 2026, starting at approximately 8:00 a.m.(MT) and lasting for approximately 2 hours while maintenance work is being completed. This will affect customers north, south & west of the Mullen Substation.

Custer Power is keeping the fire fighters and families in the way of the Pressey Park fire in prayers and thoughts.

Heavy snow is likely across a broad region from the Southern Rockies and Plains through the Mid-Atlantic and into the Northeast. Snowfall totals exceeding 12 inches are becoming more probable in localized areas. Widespread travel disruptions are likely.
It's always good to have a plan for when the unexpected happens including the unplanned power outage. Make sure to have at least 3 days of food on hand and a plan for when the power goes out.
