Growth is a difficult balance for small coastal cities but Iβd take local decisions any day, especially in times like these. Have seen Coastal do major harm and waste significant dollars with some of their decisions in Malibu. They will use this destruction as a land-grab opportunity. Time to go.
@realEstateTrent My mother and sister in-law are both realtors in Malibu/ Palisades. Absolutely this is happening and sadly same thing happened after Woolsey in 2018. Lease listings going 4x overnight, lease bidding wars. Mayhem and itβs disgusting.
@Keith_Wasserman His latest SF buy is about as contrarian as it gets given the submarket - but with a basis that low and plenty of patience it should pay off. Love to see it.
@edgarrmcgregor In the SM Mtns in Calabasas, 6.5 inches at my house and counting. Upper Las Virgenes creek was already roaring at 4pm when I checked, tomorrow will be a mess.
@buccocapital Your tweets turned me onto him. Read Annals and Control of Nature last summer. Amazing. Wife loves hearing me drone on about cratons and transverse faults.
@rohindhar Beautiful. But the trade off for those views is a 20+ min drive up/ down a very windy and narrow canyon for groceries, beach, etc. Extreme wildfire risk up there. County fire dept operates a badass forward helicopter base a few hills over, so that helps
