Reflecting on the weekend I spent at @cuwip2023ithaca and how much these conferences have changed over the years. I attended 2 as an undergrad and one as a grad student and of course it was different to attend as a speaker now, but still the space felt more inclusive and complex
Yesterday, last panel at the American Physical Society (APS Physics) #CUWiP at Ithaca College - topic: Work - Life Balance. Again great questions from the participants and interesting insights from my fellow panel members @FrizzlePhysics and Neti Bhatt

The keynote address “What I Like About Physics...And What I Don't: But How I Manage to Really Like It Anyway” by Nadya Mason was streamed across different #CUWiP sites and it started with the tradition of the CUWiP wave 🙌
Our plenary talk today was "Audacious Astrophysics" by Terri Brandt, who talked about different research she did at NASA, which took her to different parts of the world, encouraging engagement between the astrophysics and astronomy communities as well as management and leadership
In addition to lab tours, students were exposed to theoretical research via short talks. Here is a talk by @JDislistening and a tour of @Cornell Center for Advanced Computing (CAC)
#CUWiP at Cornell and Ithaca College @cuwip2023ithaca continued with lab tours today. One of the labs that students visited was @PARADIMResearch labs and they got to know about the facilities where any scientist can learn to create any electronic material.

Morning panel on #DataScience at the American Physical Society (APS Physics) CUWiT conference at Cornell University in Ithaca with Katherine Quinn and Andrea Santiago Boyd - packed room, great discussions and fabulous views ! https://t.co/X5oaqfhT12
Finishing off the day with a discussion on research outside academia - Terri Brandt - formerly NASA, Ellen Kosik Williams and Nicole Wiles from Corning Inc., and me representing Brookhaven National Laboratory and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in general…https://t.co/JwNIsx0sEC
#CUWiP has started at Cornell & IC at @cuwip2023ithaca with welcoming students. It has been very nice to chat with students about @PARADIMResearch facilities and REU opportunities. Lab tours coming up tomorrow!
Later today I am headed upstate to be part of @cuwip2023ithaca. Super excited to speak about being a physicist-turned-writer at @newscientist, science communication and being a queer person in physics on three (!) panels throughout the weekend. Say hi if you see me please.
I'm excited to be involved with the @APSphysics Conference for Undergraduate Women in Physics #apscuwip at Cornell University and Ithaca College Jan 20-22, 2023: @cuwip2023ithaca

Only 11 more days until CUWiP!
It’s time to think about the career fair happening on that Sunday. Have your resume printed and ready if you want to get some feedback while there. #apscuwip#womeninphysics
Only 20 days until CUWiP!
Have you thought about the parallel sessions? Come to “Applying for undergraduate research opportunities” with Cornell's own Fatima Yousuf. #apscuwip#womeninphysics
