Today is an impossible day. This afternoon Huck crossed the rainbow bridge. After beating a brain tumor in 2022, his seizures returned this week and we had to make a choice: change his medications again which might have bad side effects and lose him a piece at a time, or say good bye on our own terms. He’d already lost some ability to get around this week.

Huck had a nice day, he kissed his boys before they went to school, laid on the couch, meandered around his yard, laid in the sun, and ate all the treats. We said goodbye in our backyard, with Parker, Mary and I telling him know how loved he is, and always will be. There’s so much I want to say about this wonderful dog but I’m so very heartbroken right now. I am tired of always having someone to grieve. I’ll share more photos later. I want to remember him always. We did right by our dog but I miss him so much already.
