@milosgajdos For me, it's:
* id bigint unsigned not null primary key
* created int unsigned not null
* updated int unsigned
* deleted int unsigned
Can you explain more about an updated_by? As in, user account, or something like app/version/path/method/line?
A #mysql8 gotcha: #mysql 8 does not support wildcard database names in grants if you have partial_revokes enabled; instead, wildcards are interpreted literally. Partial Revokes is enabled in #gcp#cloudsql even if you don't personally use them.

My #mysql SPOF suffered an incident this fall w/out downtime: we rose from 6k daily QPS peak to a 62k QPS peak.
Two boss' (Joe, Ranjit) architectural calls kept us able to handle the load, along w/ good confs.
Also thanks to #Percona for importing the Thread Pool implementation.
I bet the DBA / SRE responsible for the #GCP#Spanner build in Europe is proud of their one-liner in the zonal downtime report.
"no evidence of any customer impact" https://t.co/Qdm5qZwLz6
Congrats.
@bweisel@natfriedman Yeah, that makes sense. Customer-defined data structure with customer-defined queries, best approach is BigQuery or Hbase or things of the sort.
GCP's public facing #Spanner has really come along in the last two years. Automatic index selection, in particular. Native online schema changes are shifting my loyalties. Also named parameters and (mvp) perf-schema like visibilities, too. Good stuff.
@ERIC96B@MarkRJohnsonNC@DrArianeMachin How much talk is there about makeup in-person time instead of summer vacation, assuming vaccination coverage is high enough?
and just look at that GORGEOUS fucking SLO screenshot that shows how we were a) alerted to the fact that our error budget was rapidly evaporating, and b) instantly identified the source of the problem.
* the vertical grey line is the heatmap time range
* top left is error budget
@gabidavila Hi Gabi, I found it in the docs:

I now need to dig into my instances and see the implications of actively using an unsupported character set.
