Picked a heckuva day to drive home to Chicago from the WI Dells. Lost the battle for a bit with rain but raced just ahead of this final boss. This was in Gurnee around 3:40 pm. @nilwxreports@WindyCityWxMan@NWSChicago
@MichaelMcGough3 So I’m posting this tribute today to my grandpa and all of the tremendous folks at the Post-Gazette and those who have been there over its long history. I work on the media relations side of things today, and I like to think my love of the news and writing came from him.
Crushed to hear this. Though I grew up in Chicago, my Pittsburgh roots run deep. My grandfather, Nick Wallace, joined the Post-Gazette in 1948, and rose the ranks to become news editor in 1975. He retired in 1983. His philosophy was simple: Get the news in the paper. (cont’d)
@MichaelMcGough3 I was stunned, excited, and emotional to hear about my grandpa from him, as he had died when I was only in 2nd grade, and my memories of him were sadly few. But I knew that he loved what he did, he loved the news and the written word, and he loved the Post- Gazette.
@teachercreated my daughter has this unicorn pointer and sadly it broke tonight. She is devastated. Do you have any stock of this somewhere? Any leads would be appreciated! Thank you! 🙂
I got nothing on @landon_wx and his amazing shots but here’s my view from Chicago north suburbs! Amazing sight to catch on my way to bed (even if my neighbor across the street did have their outside lights on…🫠😤)
@SamsungUS please advise how I can disable, or better yet delete, Samsung TV from my Frame tv. We have tried many things to no avail. We really do not appreciate having cops or other inappropriate shows auto play in front of our young children whenever we turn the TV on.
@nilwxreports Up at my in laws’ farm west of MSP watching it roll in. They’ve had so much rain this summer, too. Total opposite of us back in Chicago. I keep telling them to send it our way!
