‘The south’ is perhaps one of the greatest misnomers of political dialogue. The south is not a place of homogenous conservatism or futile elections. It is a place of gerrymandering, voter suppression, & bold activists & communities ceaselessly fighting for justice despite that.
Slavery, segregation, voting rights, gerrymandering and abortion all have one thing in common:
“States rights.”
Since the first draft of the constitution, “Leave it up to the states” has been code for “Leave it up to the racists.”
It's men who do these mass shootings. How about if only women can have guns, and if a man wants to shoot someone, they have to ask their sister, mother, wife, or daughter, and they'll tell the man hi is an idiot.
In my view, helping build houses for the poor when you’re in your 90s is miraculous. Jimmy Carter’s not Catholic, but he should be canonized when it’s appropriate. He’s the closest thing to a saint I’ve seen in my lifetime.
@RobbieFulks yesterday I told my husband that I thought you might be here and we saw you today and are so glad you are. Hope you guys are having a fantastic weekend!
@RobbieFulks so nice to see you walking down the streets of Knoxville today! My husband and I saw you at the Bijou a few years ago when we first moved to Knoxville and you talked about Big Ears... something about people banging on things and calling it art I believe 🙂
@pulte Was all set to buy my Christmas presents for family today but instead just had to get my car towed to the shop. Estimate is $700 and I have $766 in the bank
I am happy for Taylor Swift and Adele but I am from the era of Tori Amos and Sinead O’Connor. I miss when it was a female singer-songwriter’s job to scream at the sky and exorcise a 10,000 year old demon.
@RobbieFulks So turns out since the venue is changing they are making the show free and refunding everyone who bought advance tickets. So hope you are bringing merch for me to buy. Looking forward to the show!
