@SenShaneJettOK As a republican Tennesseean only living in Brazil with my wife because the government I voted for screwed us by permanently suspending all immigration visas from Brazil including marriage visas it would be nice to have support from people I voted for rather than just talk.

@brunosouzasc As an American living in Santa Catarina with my wife do Brazilian states have that power? American states thought they had that right once upon a time. My family fought on both sides during the American civil war. Afterwards the Supreme Court ruled secession unconstitutional.

@AllanSKF @AdamMGrossman @GunnelsWarren I’m really not sure where this 1.1% rate is coming from. Last year Bezos made 5.1 billion from stock sales and paid almost a billion in taxes on that alone. Every “loophole” used by Bezos is available to everyone. We don’t teach kids basic economics anymore that’s the problem

Amazon paid 40 billion total in state and federal taxes in 2024. Bezos has a yearly salary of 80k and worth 220 billion on paper.

His salary is 80k with his 220 billion net worth tied up in share value. He gets spending money from collateral loans like all Americans.
