@rayd1475@zagnut I was coming here to say the same thing. I believe the R&A wants to go back, but it’s the logistics of getting people in and out that is the bigger issue. I would love to see Turnberry and Muirfield back in the roto.
@MrBaddog7676 Ask me again in October. Anything until then is hope and speculation. All comes down to how well Harbaugh and his team can coach these players.
Rory confirmed after the round the Masters Rules Committee discussed this on the 13th tee with Cam. The player said they were discussing the strategy of the shot, not aim. Had it been aim, it’s a penalty. Glad it was nothing.
I am 0-1 on rules questions this week, but doesn’t Cam have to reset his stance once his caddie stands on the line? I believe a player cannot receive assistance from his caddie on line? Where are my rules experts @NoLayingUp@TheMasters
@TradeCNBC@NoLayingUp@TheMasters A few things here. 1. They stopped taking call ins from fans years ago and rightly so. 2. It doesn’t matter if they show live shots or not, most rules issues in stroke play can be resolved before a player signs their card.
@GAPGolfer@NoLayingUp@TheMasters Thanks Chris. Jeff Kiddie sent me the same thing. I couldn’t clearly hear what they were talking about. It felt like the caddie was trying confirm the trajectory of the shot wouldn’t hit the tree, not his swing. If he was asking about his swing, I would have been looking head on
@Ivantheboomer@SaU_KRIS@NoLayingUp@TheMasters They review possible rules infractions with players through video at the end of a round and before they sign their scorecard. It has happened for the last 15-20 years. Dustin Johnson at Whistling in 2010 perhaps the most famous.
Olazabal is currently leading the Masters, but somehow didn’t get penalized for improving the area of his swing on the 2nd hole. Am I missing something? Thoughts on this @NoLayingUp ? @TheMasters
@BayRsrv@TheBankerTTV@Dr_DewSweep@NoLayingUp@TheMasters You are allowed to use reasonable error to take your stance. You must take the least intrusive path to doing so. You can bend back branches to be able to take your stance. The Olazabal clip is regarding the area of his swing, not his stance.
@lugolfista@NoLayingUp@TheMasters 8.1a. You cannot bend or break growing objects from your intended swing area. When you break off leaves, you are likely to get penalized each and every time. Not all the time, but most of the time. Do I think it’s an improvement? No. But I also didn’t write the rules.
@Dr_DewSweep@NoLayingUp@TheMasters It’s not his lie. It’s the area of his intended swing when he takes a practice backswing and removes leaves from the tree.
@GeorgieThomasJr@ogilviej How do you go from proclaiming these are underrated courses to talking about the showers and hangs? Tell me what makes the courses great? And don’t get me wrong, all 3 places are great. Just stay on target.
@thegreenzamboni@MollieeWalkerr We thank Bread for his time and wish him well. I’m fine with younger players hopefully picking up his minutes and touching the puck on the PP. It’s time to move on. The deal is done. More to come this summer.
@thegreenzamboni@MollieeWalkerr Whenever a GM offers a full NMC as a way of signing a top free agent, this is the part you have to live with. You won’t control the ending. We got 5 great years of Bread and a few sniffs at a Cup final. It was a good run. We didn’t get screwed. We got what we paid for.
@thegreenzamboni@MollieeWalkerr I am not banging the drum and saying our GM is doing all the right things. I’m saying I understand the lack of return on Panarin. Keep in mind, Bread could have killed any deal at all and they got nothing. It was never a position of power.
@thegreenzamboni@MollieeWalkerr Rangers overpaid in 2014 because they thought they could win, and nearly did. It’s what contenders do. If you are selling, you hope you get to deal with someone who is willing to overpay to win now. It’s also not 2014 anymore. The ability to add through FA isn’t what it once was.
