This is a typical Sanghi trope that I've been thinking about tackling for a while. 

So here are 18 pointers arranged nicely under six main categories. Despite these 18 pointers, Indian Muslims refuse to give up. It says a lot about their resilience and courage. 

A. Housing and Property Discrimination

1. Denial of housing access: Muslims face widespread discrimination in renting or buying homes, with landlords and societies enforcing informal "no-Muslim" rules, leading to exclusion from mixed neighborhoods.

2. Punitive demolitions and property attacks: Rampant bulldozing of Muslim homes, mosques, Waqf properties, and even graves as extrajudicial punishment, often in BJP-ruled states, displacing families and erasing heritage.

3. State-driven ghettoization: Policies and inaction post-violence force Muslims into segregated, under-resourced areas, exacerbated by laws like Gujarat's Disturbed Areas Act restricting interfaith property transactions.

B. Economic and Social Exclusion

4. Employment discrimination: Underrepresentation and bias in government jobs, including the army, bureaucracy, and public sector, with Muslims holding only 2-5% of positions despite being 14% of the population.

5. Economic and social boycotts: Calls for boycotts of Muslim businesses and vendors, often post-violence, leading to livelihood losses and enforced isolation in markets and communities.

6. Demonization of social mobility: Rhetoric like "UPSC jihad" portrays Muslim success in education or civil services as a threat, aiming to curb the emerging middle class despite gains driven by demographics and past liberalization.

C. Violence and Vigilantism

7. Lynchings and mob attacks: Rampant killings of Muslims over cow-related suspicions or fabricated claims, often by vigilante groups with impunity.

8. Vigilante killings under false pretexts: Muslim men bound, beaten, or killed in the name of "love jihad", a debunked conspiracy theory, fueling honor-based violence against interfaith relationships.

9. State-sponsored militant groups: Tolerance or indirect support for outfits like Bajrang Dal, VHP, and cow vigilantes, who operate with state funding and minimal accountability in BJP states.

D. Judicial and Legal Biases

10. Bail and detention disparities: Easy bail for those accused of crimes against Muslims, while Muslim activists (Umar Khalid, Sharjeel Imam) face prolonged detention without trial under laws like UAPA.

11. Court curbs on personal freedoms: Judicial decisions restricting Muslim rights, including anti-Muslim statements by judges (slurs like "kathmullah" by Judge Yadav) and rulings that enable discrimination.

12. Exclusionary laws and policies: Legislation like the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), anti-conversion laws, and abrogation of Article 370 in Muslim-majority Kashmir, seen as discriminatory and centralizing control.

E. Political Marginalization

13. Decline in representation: Drastic drop in Muslim MLAs and MPs (4.4% in 2024 Lok Sabha, lowest in decades), with fewer tickets from parties.

14. Parliamentary abuse: Muslim MPs facing Islamophobic slurs and threats in sessions (called "terrorist" or "pimp" by BJP members), normalizing hate in democratic spaces.

15. Labeling critics as anti-national: Prominent Muslims, including former VP Hamid Ansari, actors like Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, and musician AR Rahman, branded traitors for questioning Hindutva policies.

F. Social and Cultural Attacks

16. Hate speech and rhetoric: Rampant anti-Muslim hate speech (1,318 events in 2025, mostly in BJP states), amplified by politicians, media, and online platforms, invoking tropes like "jihad" or "outsiders."

17. Discrimination against children: Muslim kids called "Pakistani" or "terrorist" in schools, leading to bullying, segregation, and dropout risks, with state inaction fostering societal bias.
