In September, our training courses were taken over 30,000 times!
We believe one life lost to suicide is one too many. Through our training we hope to support more people to have potentially life-saving conversations.

Today, we say goodbye to Andy Kerr, former CWU DGS and one of CWUHA's greatest champions. Andy not only negotiated the agreement with BT to support CWUHA, he joined us in Moldova to deliver aid to disadvantaged children. Rest in peace, Andy. Forever in our Hearts 💕 @CWUnews
📢 Our research found that 74% of people feel comfortable talking to their friends and family about mental health. But only 45% feel the same about suicidal thoughts. Help us change this.
Start the conversation today. It could even save a life. #WorldSuicidePreventionDay

Sometimes the hardest words to say are the most important. By having more open conversations, we give people the chance to express how they feel and get the support they need. It could even save a life. 💚
One day to go...
Tomorrow we will launch our updated ZSA #SuicideAwareness Training 💛
We shared a preview at our webinars today and now we're sharing with you too!
Keep an eye out for our ZSA member communication and updates on our website and social media tomorrow!
Every conversation, no matter how small, contributes to a more supportive & understanding society. Together, we can make a difference & work towards a future where suicide prevention is prioritised & everyone feels supported to get the help they need.

World #SuicidePrevention Day is also a day to recall those who have died by suicide.
A day of profound sadness & commemoration.
In the UK it is the personal stories of loss & the courage of bereaved families that have transformed the narrative.

Reach out, ask them how they are feeling, listen with an open mind and offer your support https://t.co/Z7pUuqqlYO

We believe suicide is preventable and that one life lost to suicide, is one too many. The more people who feel able to talk about suicide, the more change there is to save lives.

It’s been 63 years since suicide was decriminalised in the UK. But so many of us still use the term ‘commit suicide’.
Why does it matter? Language that links suicide and crime can increase stigma and prevent people struggling with suicidal thoughts from speaking out.
If we choose language like ‘died by suicide’ or ‘took their own life’ we allow space for open conversations and compassion. Let’s choose our words carefully.

If you can spare 20 minutes today, you could help save a life.
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day, so I’m encouraging everyone to complete Zero Suicide Alliance’s training to learn what to do if a loved one, colleague or stranger is in crisis.
It is with deep sorrow that the branch has received news that Andy Kerr our former Deputy General Secretary Telecom and Financial Services has passed on.
The Great Western Branch offers its condolences to Andy’s family and is thankful for all that he did for our membership.
We’re trying to get as many followers as Nigel Farage so we can show those who want to privatise the NHS just how many people are prepared to fight against it.
Please take a few seconds to help by following us and retweeting this.
