Economy Minister Dr @CArchibald_SF has welcomed funding to support the enhancement of visitor experiences and create synergies across the iconic Wild Atlantic Way and Causeway Coastal Route.
The Shared Island Coast-to-Coast Capital Investment Scheme has allocated almost €2.7million to 13 projects, including 5 in the north:-
· Derry Girls Experience
· @GCausewayNT Visitor Centre
· @MuseumFreeDerry
· The Courthouse, Bushmills
· The Gobbins
The Minister said: “Tourism is an important economic sector for the north and one that I am committed to supporting. The opportunities that come from collaboration north and south, in developing our all-island tourism offering is central to this.
“I welcome this funding to enhance some of our existing visitor attractions and experiences in Derry and Antrim, better connecting the Causeway Coastal Route and Wild Atlantic Way. The funding will help attract more visitors, who will stay longer and spend more, boosting our regional economy and supporting our local communities.”

At this time exactly 5 years ago I was taken to ICU after I nearly drank myself to death. I was there for 3 days. I was utterly broken after 25 years of addiction, depression and anxiety.
Today I help street dogs and have been sober since. My message to you today is that there is always hope. There is always a second chance. You can do this. ❤️
This new approach will support rural businesses to invest in job creation & innovation, & it will help reduce costs for rural families seeking to build new homes in their local communities.
It will also support investment in renewable energy, lessening reliance on fossil fuels.
Congratulations to @QUBelfast and @DkIT_ie on this major and welcome step in north south collaboration which will support student, academic & researcher mobility, greater cooperation on research and innovation, as well as promoting regional balance.

Earlier today, Israeli strikes hit Nasser hospital in Gaza, killing at least 20 people. Among those killed was Miriam Abu Dagga, a freelance photographer who frequently worked with us.
We are heartbroken by her death.
Below are photos she took while on assignments with us, documenting how healthcare staff are working tirelessly to care for people as Israel pursues genocide in Gaza.

Fab conversation between @MaryLouMcDonald & Andrée Murphy this evening - positive, hopeful & future-focussed 👏🏻👏🏻
With more people engaging in the debate on constitutional change, we need to see a step-change in the planning & preparations to build on the momentum for change.
Great to host international investors in Derry this evening ahead of the 153rd Open officially teeing off tomorrow, promoting all that we have to offer as a great place to invest & do business.
The Open is not just a sporting spectacle, it is a catalyst for economic development.
During a visit to London today Economy Minister Dr @CArchibald_SF met British Government Ministers to raise a number of key economic issues.
The Minister met @SeemaMalhotra1 MP, Minister for Migration and Citizenship @ukhomeoffice, to discuss her ongoing concerns regarding the UK Electronic Travel Authorisation Scheme and to continue to lobby for a solution that will protect the local tourism industry by allowing seamless all-island travel.
The Minister also met @mgshanks MP, Energy Minister @energygovuk, to convey the need for cohesive decarbonisation funding to support and protect households, businesses and communities through the energy transition.
To conclude, Minister Archibald held a meeting with Secretary of State for Business and Trade @jreynoldsMP@biztradegovuk to discuss the recent Spending Review and its impact on the forthcoming Industrial Strategy.
Speaking afterwards Minister Archibald said the engagements had been positive: “I want to deliver the best outcomes for the people of the north and will continue to work constructively with Ministers whose brief has a direct impact on my role to highlight the challenges our local SMEs and tourism providers are facing, and to press the need for targeted decarbonisation support for our households, businesses, and communities.”
Proud to walk with thousands of Gaels tonight in support of the family of Sean Brown, who’ve campaigned with dignity & determination for 28 years for the truth about his murder.
The British government must end its shameful denial of truth & justice, & initiate a public inquiry.
Yesterday, we launched a new round of Access to Finance funding with a potential total investment of more than £250 million over the next 10 years.
Our CEO, Kieran Donoghue and Economy Minister Dr @CArchibald_SF explain how this funding will support start-ups and SMEs in NI.
I always visualized her big happy face looking out in the number one spot and today is that day.

Of course those are silly little numbers as real stuff is the 80,000 dogs sterilized and the hospital.
This moment is for you Tina. I love you ❤️
Today I set out an ambitious package of reforms which will see the biggest upgrade of our employment legislation since the Good Friday Agreement.
This will ensure our employment law framework works effectively for both workers & employers in the modern era.
