@avrldotdev this is something i think suits your preferences to build things from scratch. you'll understand it better, and open-weight models are interesting too.
@avrldotdev learn to make from scratch llm, a small lm (domain oriented), a reasoning model, and a multi-agentic system, and you'll find that behind it all is actually creative programming. try doing it in rust instead of python.

@avrldotdev https://t.co/z5dTAKnGwu this is good, while waiting for https://t.co/LFNNVWqRlN to roll out some real ai related challenges. there's https://t.co/eRQH6sZ8wi, which isn't very useful.
@Chris_arnade i think it's the difference between e.g. dostoyevsky. genius but depressive, like most of russia most of the time. on the other side:
"Afoot and light-hearted I take to the open road,
Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me leading wherever I choose..."
"The lazy narrative is โAI ate the memory market.โ The precise narrative is that the KV cache ate the memory market, and the industryโs shift from training-dominated to inference-dominated compute is what lit the fuse."

@theo it's much more than that. not that "c" is not good. it's that you need to have foundations even if you were not to use them. i've learned binary, hex, ... conversions, and rarely had to use them, let alone write code.

contrary to bloomerg , i don't think at all that falling prices of tokens "for stock investors, that may be a warning sign". falling prices are the inherent result of openai et al main function. that said i see a lot of fertile ground for the next year, seeded by failing startups
@Chris_arnade i think in your moby dick "review" you've found a good voice inside yourself. it's not a review. it's an essay, halfway to a great book. about moby dick or anything else.
