Morocco are a team to be truly proud of!

Just imagine it: they came into this game after a brutal 120-minute battle against the Netherlands, then had to face a physically intense Canada side that tried to shut down every passing lane in the first half.

But what impressed me the most was the second half. I saw an incredible Moroccan mentality—constant transitions, relentless sprints, aggressive counter-pressing, Bono commanding every cross into the box, and a brilliant set-piece routine that made the difference. They played with immense pride and ended up crushing Canada 3–0.

On top of that, the coach’s tactical adjustments were outstanding. He gave Ounahi more freedom between the lines to escape Canada’s pressure, brought on Amrabat to match Canada’s physicality, and introduced Talbi to exploit the space behind Canada’s adventurous full-back.

Morocco have now become the first Arab and African nation to reach the FIFA World Cup quarter-finals in two consecutive tournaments—the greatest achievement by any African nation in World Cup history.

​ويرى متتبعون للشأن المغاربي أن هذه الممارسات الإعلامية تعكس إشكالية أعمق تتجاوز حدود الرياضة. فبدلاً من استثمار الثروات والمقدرات الوطنية الهائلة في تحقيق التنمية الشاملة والارتقاء بالمجتمع، تبدو بعض الأطراف هناك أسيرة لـ "عقلية الستينيات"؛ حيث تواصل هدر طاقاتها في محاولة ترسيخ عقيدة العداء للمغرب، جاعلةً منها محوراً أساسياً لوجودها وتوجهاتها، على حساب قضايا التنمية والتحديث الداخلي.
