I really donโt get folks who post some vague shit and expect you to magically know what they goinโ through. Either say whatโs wrong or stfu, โcause ainโt nobody tryna play detective.
I've been searching for the right term to describe the phenomenon I see across the developing world but haven't found it yet...
We point to the skyscrapers and luxury malls of the various capital cities as proof of progress in Africa, forgetting that these places are where banks, government institutions, foreign capital, international aid agencies, NGOs, and the wealthiest citizens, are concentrated all in just one small area.
The real test is what happens when you leave that small bubble.
In Japan or much of Western Europe, for example, development and modernity doesn't vanish 10 kilometers out of the capital city. The roads, water, schools, and hospitals continue almost across the country. In much of Africa, on the other hand, the infrastructure drop off is DRASTIC. One minute you're in Acacia Mall and the next minute you're back in the stone age after just a 5 minute drive away from the city centre.
That's why gleaming snapshots such as this photo are so misleading.
A country isn't developed because modernity exists in some small pocket of affluence and wealth in ita capital city. Development is about how widely that modernity is distributed. Africa fails in that regard.
I don't understand... Is land finished in the whole country that a body possessing land affects food security?
What happened to the vast land in the country...
In a working system, shouldn't the government be the one solving food insecurity??
@mobilisingniger In a working system, that land should have been used for farm and trust me, that will surely go along way in solving part of food security.
Social media is blinding many of you
There are still villages in Nigeria without a lawyer or doctor
As in Nobody in the whole village has a lawyer or doctor in their family
There are still lots of families today in Nigeria where no one has a PhD. Nuclear and extended
When you see people celebrating like this, allow them. Some of you mocking them, your parents did not have a university education and your parents feel extremely accomplished because you do
Leave them to do whatever they want to do.
How could we forget to welcome you officially into the month of *CYBERSTARTER NEXUS?*๐ซ
