@ThunderWolf08 Regarding "new" trains: San Joaquins is in the process of replacing bi-level California Cars with Siemens Venture cars. Some of those old California Cars will supposedly go to Capitol Corridors. Yes, some of those existing cars are in pretty poor shape.
@MonarchWolf@VTA Or just remove the bus turnouts altogether unless it's a stop with timed transfers or similar. Transit funds pay for turnouts, but they're put in to benefit motorists.
@JonnyMoshiri@Weather_West Are you asking why SF restricts physical access to the reservoir?
The redundant supply for firefighting in SF is a different system altogether.
@ScottChoppin@jake_bittle Local news will cover stories behind the rebuilding process. Discussion often focuses on the challenges homeowners face with rebuilding to current code, and, in wildlands, to stronger fire safe standards.
Naming and shaming drone operators illegally shooting footage with active firefighting assets in the air, and with an FAA TFR prohibiting all flights except fire fighting flights. ICYMI, one of these drones damaged and grounded a Canadian Super Scooper aircraft.
@eBikeChick@gsouthern_@SanJoseDOT I think I'd still prefer to avoid this until that crosswalk across De La Cruz to the airport is ready. Otherwise you're stuck going down Central Expressway, or going down De La Cruz (with no bike lanes) for a while.
@gsouthern_@SanJoseDOT Yeah, going over 101 on Trimble / De La Cruz is no picnic. They put a path in that goes underneath the ramps to bypass all of that mess but I don't know if they're usable yet. They had a ribbon cutting for the bypass but I don't know the actual status.
@gsouthern_@SanJoseDOT Thanks for checking. Hopefully a crosswalk will go in soon. I think it looks like the bike path to bypass the ramps to 101 is open-ish?
@gsouthern_@SanJoseDOT Oh, the "more info" page provides more information. They're looking to see how alternate routes provided by SJDOT can be improved for when GRT is unusable.
Does anyone know if that gate & crossing from airport to Central / De La Cruz is open again?

@gsouthern_@SanJoseDOT Interesting DOT is doing this, since this has always been Parks responsibility. Specific questions about flooding, too. I'm intrigued.
@SanJoseDOT Glad to see the survey. I hope that something is done about the flooding under 101 and elsewhere on the trail. I've seen @cyclelicious single handedly digging drainage ditches in the past that have helped a lot.
@ConorMagee29@humantransit I've seen Happy Holidays messaging rotate w/ destination on Santa Clara County VTA light rail trains. The lines are color-coded blue & green, but my 60 year old eyes have difficulty differentiating between blue and green at a distance.
