@AklTransport just reporting the usual illegal parking on no parking areas (shown here), disabled parking without displaying permit on St Paul Street (further down the road) that is happening right now.
I hope this is only temporary. GUSTA ME has been the go-to resource for ecological anlayses that makes sense to a microbiologist like me and I would recommend it to anyone who would listen.
It seems the invaluable GUide to STatistical Analysis for Microbial Ecology (GUSTA ME) has gone offline with a Google "Site not found" error, and the assciated domain name https://t.co/5EijRf0Hup has just expired @RametteA
@AlexJProbst Joking aside, it's hard to overemphasise the importance of reference data and sample associated metadata for analysis and interpretation of biological data - amplicon work included. I wish I have a standard disclaimer (with diagrams) for meetings like that.
Very niche things I recently learned: 1 - Do not RAID unpartitioned disk, unless you want it to disappear on you upon restart. 2 - NAS often have OS generated mystery RAID devices that can trigger mdstat alarms.
We finally have a lab style guide in both Powerpoint and one-page pdf for pinning up next to your desk. Image of PDF is below. Thousand thanks to @RobLawrencium, editor extraordinaire for putting this together.

@SyrieHermans I've been there too ๐ญ... An auto-pipette can verify the volume and save the day! Unless the liquid is volatile (e.g. chloroform) or viscous.
@arctichominid For parallel processing, are you running Linux or Windows? I haven't tried it yet but I think the parallel package on R can deal with many of these operations https://t.co/cuhtrZiBv2
