Moi University is closing down as a result of mismanagement and the vast land it occupies might just be transformed into a maize farm and cattle ranch by someone who never went to University but has a degree.
Good morning, friends and Patriots.
The political activity in our country continues to raise uncertainty and disquiet among the people. We must, however, keep our eyes peeled on our sovereignty, democracy and constitutionalism. The @Senate_KE Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) (No.2) Bill 2024 proposes to entirely overhaul our democratic space as we know it.
The irrational, ill-advised, and poorly timed proposals to establish additional political positions and extend constitutional terms betray the will of the people of Kenya. We have an opportunity to ensure we affirm what our will is, and resoundingly so. The @LawSocietyofKe calls on all Kenyans to critically evaluate and send their views on the Bill within the prescribed timelines. Let us protect the sanctity of our constitution and preserve the legal and institutional framework it establishes.
Let us exercise our civic duty through effective and proactive public participation.
The @LawSocietyofKe is appalled by the thoughtless, insensitive and reckless statements by the MP for Thika Town on the floor of the house during yesterday's reactions to the Court of Appeal's judgement on the Finance Act 2023. While judgements are subject to constructive criticism founded on legal principles and constitutional values, such threats and inflammatory rhetoric from a sitting MP are unpalatable.
We remind the @NAssemblyKE that the independence of the @Kenyajudiciary is a mandatory constitutional principle that upholds the rule of law, constitutionalism, and democracy. Further, allocation of public money towards constitutional funds such as the Judiciary Fund is not a discretionary privilege to be granted by Parliament on whims, but is a duty that Parliament must fulfill in accordance with constitutional principles.
We put the National Assembly on notice against any attempt to subdue judicial Independence and decisional autonomy of judges through threats and intended illegal reduction of budgetary allocations. We urge our MPs to fulfil their mandate in a manner that does not offend the Constitution and to use legal means to resolve any dissatisfaction with the performance of duties by independent institutions.
We strongly condemn the utterances by @hon_alicenganga and demand an unconditional withdrawal and public apology. We reiterate our support for the judiciary in their defence of the constitution and rule of law. The Law Society of Kenya and all our members will zealously guard judicial independence from all adversaries, whether within or without the judiciary.
Are Kenyans aware that Mp nyikal has told kimani ichung'wah this and exposed parliament? He has exposed what has been happening there and why courts have won regularly .🚨 Gideon moi millie odhiambo
Message on the Passing of Hon. Justice Daniel Ogembo Ogola
On behalf of the Judiciary and the Judicial Service Commission, it is with profound sadness that I announce the sudden passing of Hon. Justice Daniel Ogembo Ogola, Judge of the High Court of Kenya.
Justice Ogembo joined the Judiciary as a Magistrate in 2004 and was subsequently appointed Judge of the High Court in 2016. At the time of his passing, he was the Presiding Judge at the Siaya Law Courts.
We received the news as we were paying our final respects to Hon. Justice Majanja at the Friends International Centre, Ngong Road. The untimely passing of Hon. Justice Ogembo comes at a trying time for the Judiciary, Judicial Service Commission and the Nation at large.
This is a deep blow to the Judiciary family, the legal fraternity and our country. We are all devastated.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Judge Ogembo’s family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Judiciary fraternity.
As we come to terms with the news, we extend our hearts to everyone engulfed in sorrow and grief occasioned by the loss of loved ones.
May Hon. Justice Ogembo’s soul rest in eternal peace.
We will share more information in due course.

Having the option to stay at home with your parent(s) rent free until you really get your shit together is one of the biggest blessings. Crazy that society has a lot of people thinking that’s shameful...
