Jason Bateman says he packed a duffel bag of cash to quit Hollywood and flee the country. Then a role he’d been rejected for years earlier came back around and saved his entire career
Bateman: “I was literally very, very close to liquidating what little cash I had, putting it in a duffel bag, going down to the Bradley terminal at LAX… finding a city that looked interesting, and just unplugging and going there, plugging in and starting over…”
Host: “What kept you from doing that?”
Bateman: “An audition for something I ended up getting. And I was also shadowing the great Jimmy Burrows, the television director. Instead of having all the sitcom experience I had be a detriment, a hurdle, a barrier to hiring me. I wanted to turn that into a positive: start directing, try to be the next Jimmy Burrows”
“He was kind enough to let me shadow him and signed me up with his agent, Bob Broder. I directed a few episodes of some sitcoms, and it was great”
“I was feeling like an adult, feeling like I was using what I’d learned. And then Arrested Development happened”
“When I read that script, there’s no way they’re going to see me for this. They’re trying to do the exact opposite of what I’m known for. And then, Mitch Hurwitz, the genius behind Arrested Development remembered me from an audition a few years earlier, for a pilot he didn’t cast me in”
“But he remembered that I’d done really well in that audition. So he said, ‘Yeah, I’ll see him for Arrested Development.’ I went in and just guessed right with what they were looking for… So it was a great fit for me and it came right in the nick of time”
This was filmed yesterday morning at HALO Animal Rescue in Phoenix. The man is Carlos. Came to the shelter to look at dogs. Told the front desk he was "just browsing." Not sure if he was ready for the commitment. Staff brought him to meet a brown mixed-breed named Rocky. Shepherd and Lab mix. Four years old. Carlos sat on the floor with Rocky for about thirty minutes.
Rocky was calm. Sat beside Carlos. Let Carlos pet him. Normal meet-and-greet. Then Carlos stood up.
Told staff he wanted to "think about it overnight." That's when Rocky moved.
Didn't bark. Didn't jump. Just rushed forward and wrapped both front paws around Carlos's leg. Held on tight. Carlos tried to take a step. Rocky slid across the floor still gripping Carlos's leg.
Wouldn't let go. Shaking. Tail tucked all the way down.
Body trembling. Making this quiet whining sound. Volunteer Jessica was in the room. She said: "Rocky wasn't being aggressive. He was terrified. You could see it in his whole body. He thought Carlos leaving meant being abandoned again." Carlos stood there frozen. Rocky still holding his leg. After a long moment, Carlos knelt back down. Rocky immediately climbed into Carlos's lap.
Still shaking....... And at the end they go away together
I find it astounding that Christians believe Heaven is this beautiful place with breathtaking natural landscapes, where all your needs are met, there’s no war or hunger, and everyone lives in harmony, yet here on Earth, they call it socialism and say it’s evil.
Unless you’re an Epstein criminal, a politician committing treason on behalf of Israel, insider trading, invested in data centers, working for Pfizer, part of the military industrial complex, or named Jared Kushner. Otherwise, Kash Patel will find you if you betray this country.

Jeff Bezos capped his salary at $82,000. Not because he's modest or because he wanted what's best for society and his company but because salaries are taxed.
Instead, he borrows against his $230 BILLION stock to fund his lifestyle UNTAXED No paycheck = no income tax.
The he jumps on TV and said he pays his fair share of taxes. They think we're stupid.
This is Edward. He was given 6 months to live after being found as a stray. His family was determined to give him the best few months possible, so they introduced him to the ice cream truck. That was 27 months ago. 14/10 #SeniorPupSaturday
As Trump posts AI videos of him assaulting Stephen Colbert, here’s what Colbert was doing:
Dancing with his wife, having fun at the Fired & Festive!” afterparty in NYC.
Stop pretending this is about cracking down on fraud when Trump literally let people who stole hundreds of millions in Medicare and Medicaid money walk free. One guy stole $1.3 billion and served 14 months of a 20-year sentence. When a reporter asked the DOJ about it, they refused to answer.
That’s the hypocrisy people are angry about. Republicans want to talk tough on fraud while protecting the biggest fraudsters when they’re politically connected. If fraud is wrong, then it should be wrong for everyone.
