While tyranny may exert significant power for a time, history shows that it is ultimately vulnerable to the forces of change and the will of the people.
Tyranny often relies on fear and oppression, which can only sustain control for so long. Resistance grows as people seek freedom and justice.
@daddyhope Trying to turn Chamisa’s blind loyalists into critical thinkers is a futile effort, Hopewell. Their unwavering devotion makes him infinitely valuable to ZANU PF.
He has become the most effective weapon ZANU PF has ever used against the people of Zimbabwe. 🥲
Agency Gumbo represents the kind of opposition Member of Parliament that every democracy needs. We are all Zimbabweans, but people hold different political views, ideologies and visions for the country. Those citizens deserve representatives who can clearly, intelligently and fearlessly articulate their positions in Parliament.
His contribution during yesterday’s debate on the controversial Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 demonstrated exactly what an effective opposition MP should do, scrutinise legislation, challenge those in power, and give voice to the concerns of the citizens he represents.
Agency Gumbo showed the importance of having opposition legislators who are informed, articulate and prepared to defend the constitutional principles and democratic values they believe in.
A healthy democracy is not built on conformity. It is strengthened when different viewpoints are robustly debated, tested and heard.
Gumbo’s contribution to the Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 debate was a reminder of the vital role that a strong and credible opposition representative plays in any democratic society.
@Jamwanda2@Mathuthu Con artists use queen bees to attract those bees. Its a known marketing gimmick by fake n’angas. Im not saying this is what happened in this particular clip but kana muchinzwa manzwa.
I Bekezela Maplanka here by declare that l strongly reject CAB3. We The Citizens demand all our resources wasted on this thing, to be paid back directly by those individuals involved not the state. We further demand Free and Fair elections in 2028.
The Zanu PF system will inevitably target anyone who openly calls out its democratic failures, as seen in his situation. Hopefully, he has also come to realize that not everyone in the opposition is a true ally; some are simply pursuing personal agendas and won’t be troubled by another’s persecution. Regardless, his commitment to fighting for a better Zimbabwe for all will not go unrecognized.
Morning Arsenal fans.
My suspicions have just been proven and I just want to offer you a gentle reminder, the next time you feel the urge to rant about “tainted titles” and Sir Alex’s mythical “play until we score” superpower bla bla bla maybe pause, breathe, and take a quick look at your own house.
Because this season? Your first love, Arsenal won the league for the first time in…. I can’t possibly remember the number of years 😂 all while:
• Getting the most help from VAR and on‑field errors
• Becoming the first team in Premier League history to go an entire season without a red card
• Not conceding a single penalty all campaign
That’s not just “fairness”, that’s plot armour levels of protection 😂 even Russian presidential guards would be jealous of.
So if Fergie Time was apparently the football equivalent of rigging, what exactly are we calling the Arteta Aura? Divine intervention? 😂Industrial scale luck? Or just VAR in a red-and-white scarf?
All I’m saying is this: selective amnesia shouldn’t be your main tactical system when we talk about fairness in football. Because after this season, you’ve officially lost the right to lecture anyone about “tainted titles.”
Consider this your friendly public service announcement. Happy Sabbath, Arsenal fans and good luck tonight. Win or lose your club will be remembered for introducing ruck and scrum to football 😂
Remember to polish the most tainted trophy after Liverpool’s covid titie 😂
And let’s not start the conversation about the introduction of ruck and scrum to football.
@Jamwanda2 I agree wth you on this one. Once someone is gone, there’s no way to repair what was broken. Any bitterness, regrets, or unspoken words linger with the living, not the dead. Let’s settle our quarrels before the grave settles them for us. Kuseri kweguva hakuna munamato.
@kerinamujati Like many contemporary politicians, she was merely getting by as a Zanu PF proxy posing as part of the opposition. The era of entering politics out of principle is long gone. MHSRIP.
I appreciate that you recognize the range of perspectives on the proposed amendments.
We are human, inevitably we approach laws with our own assumptions, values, and cognitive biases.
Interpretation of the law is never perfectly objective. Even judges trained to apply statutes “as written” bring frameworks, originalism, textualism, purposivism, etc, that influence what they see in the text.
Bias doesn’t just affect interpretation, it affects enforcement. Two people can break the same law and receive very different outcomes depending on who applies it and in what social context.
Statutes themselves are not created in a vacuum. They’re compromises shaped by political pressures, cultural norms, and the values of those who write them. So even the framework reflects some set of beliefs, though ideally filtered through collective processes rather than one individual’s preferences.
My point: when people read laws as expressions of personal ideology rather than as structured tools, they risk twisting them into something the legal system didn’t intend. The challenge is that humans can’t entirely escape subjective interpretation, so the legal system builds procedures, precedents, and review mechanisms to reduce that drift as much as possible, reason why the consultation process is happening.
Ultimately, whatever interpretations are put forward, the guiding principle should remain the same: respect the spirit of the law. The legislative intent behind the term limit provisions was to prevent manipulation of the Constitution by any incumbent. No matter how individuals may personally seek to interpret the text, that foundational purpose should remain the anchor of constitutional debate.
@CrimeWatchZW This is disappointing. Ko vamwe vari kushanda vachitenga dzavo mota inga. Shuwa munhu wemurume ungapemhe kudaro? Vana vako vanotii pavachawona this clip?
