WNBA Prop Thread for G3 10/9/26
Dream vs Liberty
- Down 0-2, the Liberty head to New York for a pivotal game 3 after narrowly losing to the Dream in OT in Game 2. Game 2 was absolutely disgusting from an officiating perspective, especially in the 1st half where several players on both teams were in foul trouble, but lets unpack what we saw/learned.
- In game 1, turnovers and points off turnovers were a major problem for New York. That remained an issue in game 2 with New York still having 17 turnovers (compared to 21) and allowing 28 points off turnover (compared to 32) but they did limit the fast break points from 18 to 11 from G1 to G2. Two things I noticed right out of the gate was the intentionality of playing through Stewie for the majority of the game, but especially early on. She had 5 of her 13 Pas in the 1st quarter alone and scored 15 points on 5 of 6 shooting. Her estimated usage in Q1 was 38%. On usage/volume of Pas, I like Stewie o3.5A a lot here. I do expect even more doubles to help slow Stewie down which should lead to even more kick outs.
- The Dream were doing whatever they could to limit actions to Sabrina AND the Liberty were taking the ball out of their young guards hands, plugging Pauline Astier in the corner to keep Canada away from the play as she has been a nightmare for the Liberty defensively. Sabrina's usage in the 1st quarter was 4% and 16% overall. She shot the ball just 8 times and had 7 assists on 12 potentials.
- Pauline has not been very effective this game as picking up Canada early is not easy, and her limited shooting ability hurts the team on spacing and keeps Canada heavily involved in the passing lanes when she is handling the ball. She played just 21 and 14 minutes in G1 and G2. Instead, Marine Fauthoux played 31 minutes and had 20/6/4. Her shooting ability really helped the Liberty out here with the Dream being intentional on stopping Sabrina. I am not sure if we get lines, but this doesn't appear to be just a hot hand thing. She closed the game strong in G1 and performed very well in G2. The Liberty *should* keep leaning into this in G3. I am annoyed with myself because Pauline opened at u3.5A at a slightly juiced number which I would have loved to play considering she produced just 3 Pas in crappy minutes last game but that has been steamed all the way down to 1.5 in some places.
- The Liberty shot well in G2 with an effective FG% of 64.1% compared to Atlanta's 47.6% but they had 20 fewer shot attempts compared to the Dream in large part due to consistently losing the offensive rebound battle (shoutout to Angel Reese here).
On the Dream side, we saw Bonner see a different role playing alongside Naz for the majority of the game. Naz was in a better rebounding spot for the majority of the game with Bonner playing the 3 spot which led to Bonner getting just 4 boards. Naz had 8 boards. The other piece that hurt Bonner was Isabele Borlase took roughly 5-6 of Bonner's regulation minutes as she was shooting the ball in the 2nd half.
@giftanyagwochu@Olakunle_Omoba the truth is majority of crime is always planned to an extent
and that plan is the biggest edge a criminal has. By being in the open, you reduce the need/complexity of the plan making it way easier for the crime to be carried out esp at night.
@Highspirit31 dallas’ result tonight doesn’t affect their seeding
they might opt to rest starters in full preparation for the playoffs sha starting on sunday
