@cejetvole It really does, to me the open source dream is dead because of this. Maybe GitHub was a mistake and an oldschool static webpage with a source tarball is the best way to protect your sanity… but yeah, the whole experience is really just telling me to never share anything again

Two solid weeks of graft and pain and the bathroom is starting to look alright again 🥲

I’ve had to learn about 3 different trades trying to rescue this bathroom and there’s still so much work to do 😭 Whoever did the tiles and shower install before did an awful job and it’s all just failed; the floor has turned to Weetabix because of leaking and rotting

Also had to learn how to solder copper pipe to install a new shower

@Craig_Higgins I literally pulled out a pair of gloves that was stuffed in the wall where the waste pipe goes out, and a soaking wet jay cloth from behind the shower tray - I hope you dont find any surprises as bad as this 🥲

@mcjonnyw Bloody hell. Well my plan is to see how much of the plasterboard is OK and cut out/replace any bad bits, then replace the tiles with PVC aqua panels around the bath area, and put a new larger bath with screen under the showerhead. I’ve already replaced most of the rotten floor 🫠

@Craig_Higgins Cheers, the more I take off the worse it gets 😔This house was “renovated” before it was sold to us. I now understand “renovated” to mean “bodged together for as cheaply as fucking possible so it can be flipped”.
