@GoodwinMJ Imprisonment for public protection (IPP) abolished in 2012 by the coalition government. Time for a rethink maybe? If you are caught carrying a knife you should be in jail until you can prove you are not a threat. Get building those prisons!

@AyoCaesar There are a lot of kids who are very violent and carry knives. Some of these incidents could be prevented, but you are going to have to lock up a lot of kids indefinitely who haven't stabbed anyone. Imprisonment for public protection (IPP) was abolished in 2012 because of this.

@AyoCaesar You're right you clearly don't understand. If there was a significant mental disorder requiring treatment he would be sectioned during the trial and transferred to hospital. I'm not sure what you think CAMHS would do? They can't just lock people up!
