Nothing is objectively moral. Problem dissolved. It only feels that way. Because it has to, or else it wouldn’t work on us.
One clue that morality is not objective is that reality does not push back on moral rights and wrongs. Only humans push back. Reality only pushes back on actual objective errors, like if you think you can fly or the earth is flat. You can test these ideas and reality will let you know. You can’t test reality on whether or not generosity or genocide is correct. Reality doesn’t care about those things. Only creatures with the ability to suffer and cooperate do.
@TheWanderingAzn Look at Christian or other religious history and show me how belief in God has led to incredibly moral, peaceful societies, that don’t suffer from moral disagreements. Show me the evidence of this divinely derived “objective morality” of which you speak.
The fact that slavery was recently (in recent history) abolished, and even after the abolishment, it still continued shows that:
1) Religious people don't recognise objective morality from the mere belief in God
Or
2) Religious people are not so different from atheists.
Ummm, no. I have other reasons, but I just want to point to two things.
This is the only time in the history of humanity that chattel slavery (or any other forms of slavery) is being frowned at. Slave owners were deeply religious people who justified slavery using religion.
Atheists can be moral.
The problem is explaining why anything is objectively moral if God does not exist.
Without God, "good" and "evil" become opinions, not truths.
The question isn't whether atheists can do good.
The question is what makes good objectively good in the first place.
If atheists cannot ground their morality without God, and Christians once owned slaves (which is bad, if we agree that God's moral nature is perfect), and recently stopped the practice, it shows that Christians were unable to understand this said objectivity too.

65,000!
How is my atheism your problem in a country that is being torn apart by religious violence? Why can't you believe in God peacefully without meddling with my rejection of the concept? But you people must farm, so I must imagine the farmers happy 😌
Ladies and gentlemen, a perspective.
Atheists are a minority in Nigeria. A quick Google search would show that we are between 65k and 150,000.
My point is that Nigerians have a bigger fish to fry. I think Nigerian should focus on religious-induced violence across the country.
