First detailed autumn migration track of one of our Common Ringed Plovers shows direct crossing of the North Sea between Germany and England.

To identidy migration routes of the Common Ringed Plover to wintering areas at the British Isles, 5 plovers were equipped with a GPS logger. The first track is now available! The plover started in the evening of 3th October and arrived at the east coast of England in the morning.

Dachte bei dieser Art immer, dass es nur die zerstörten Wildflüsse sind, die den Rückgang herbeiführten, aber nicht, dass sie so viele Dungkäfer frisst. Sie braucht also auch Weide. Der alte Jäckel hat das Rätsel gelöst.

1/6 We detected a new egg predator on our camera-monitored #CommonRingedPlover nests at #BeltringharderKoog, Germany: a couple of #GullBilledTern’s. The GBT itself is one of the rarest breeding birds in central Europe.
