I (either this incarnation or the other one) don't really block anybody on here, but blocking folks who advertise on Twitter is one of my few small pleasures.
If Trump is reelected, I will be crushed. But I will be crushed by the reelection of Trump. Not *necessarily* by actions taken by Trump. Possibly by the actions taken by Trump. But much more immediately and spiritually by what it represents. Prediction, not threat.
If people in TrumpWorld were smarter, I'd think this was an intentional ploy to prove how heightened [fascistic] rhetoric causes people to lose the ability to parse meaning. The number of folks here suggesting this quote is a *threat* when it pretty clearly is not is sad/funny.
Spokesman denies that Trump rhetoric echoes that of dictators like Hitler and Mussolini and declares that those who say it does will find "their entire existence will be crushed when President Trump returns to the White House." @marianne_levine https://t.co/yYLZbxNnv6
Misinterpreting a quote that is structured to refer to the emotional impact of a Trump reelection on people who hate him feels like what smarter people would do as a misdirect from all of the much more literal promises of crushing from Trump.
Hard to believe I'm saying it and it may not be fully reflected in the score, but this is... the worst the USC defense has looked all season? A lot of it is that Oregon *is* good. But this game has been big play after big play. They look confused EVERY play. #FightOn
Caleb Williams is so good at so many things but he has fumbled on that EXACT move in consecutive weeks and at least four or five times this season. #FightOn
@kristapley If it turns out the only thing this team needed to be a championship team was firing Alex Grinch... Riley will never admit how badly he screwed the pooch.
@adcut Oh, sure. They would have needed to nurture such an imaginary person over the course of the past decade, rather than tarring and feathering them as RINOs and whatnot.
And yet every national-level Republican is stepping over themselves to be more anti-choice than the next one. It's such a relief that the Republican establishment is as downright stupid as it is, because an actual, genuinely moderate Republican would easily win the White House.
Breaking News: Ohio voted to enshrine a right to abortion in the state Constitution, continuing a series of ballot-measure wins for abortion-rights groups. https://t.co/0de6Z4mkPL
@GoodTimesThe80s I mean... $2 million CA is probably a MASSIVE financial downgrade, unless he wants to improve his surfing opportunities. Either way, he's exactly the general type Riley should, but will not, target.
Honestly, I'd rather find somebody with some seasoning. Somebody who wouldn't be 100% beholden to Lincoln Riley and who might be able to have some autonomy. Hiring somebody young and smart is a guarantee of getting another Riley puppet/bestie.
Firing Alex Grinch now is too late to avoid wasting a season of Caleb, but it clears the way for an early start on the new hire ahead of Big Ten football.
If I were Riley, I’d go find the smartest 30-something defensive position coach in the Big Ten ready to run his own defense.
@GoodTimesThe80s He's absolutely the right type. Seasoned. Strong track record. NOTHING flashy. Just results. And I doubt it would cost that much if he actually WANTED to be wooed.
