Obsession (2025) where do you draw the line in what you’re willing to except to have someone obsessed due to your one wish willow. nuts. shot well. great scenes. made me think a lot. frightening but digestible.
Michael (2026) pulls the text book 50 cent GRODT ending with flare and fanfare. There’s a reason those motifs and arcs are so powerful. And to close out on BAD. Chills man. However, not enough depth for 20 year timeline and lack of dialogue for more. That’s tough. 6-7/10.
Project Hail Mary (2026) is carried by shared values of two intellect species with the same goal. Friendship is the soul of the film. A tad too long and the stakes slowly diminished as it went on. Made me miss the kids in da classroom.
The Drama (2026) is a rom-com turned anxiety filled spiral. I avoid trailers but the “secret” is what I wanted to find out. Once something happens that changes how you see a person, it’s not just the event any more but the shift in perception that continues to slap tf out of you.
One Battle After Another (2025) is a wild ride. Entertaining due to the expect the unexpected to carry you through a simple plot. Fun but not my pick for best picture.
Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (1999) is the foundations of the skywalker saga and is appreciated over time. A classic house of cards story plot in the height of the jedi order. Dual of fates!!! Seeing Obi wan as a naive sarcastic padawan knowing his arc is perfect. s/o Quigon!
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009) is by far one of my favorites. I have emotional attachment finishing the book in 3 days. My mother wrote a lovely note on the inside cover. I hope I can find it. I remember finally being able to compare the book and film in real time.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007) is a slow burn following Harry’s PTSD and adjustment disorder that continues to spiral out of control. I appreciate it more as an adult. As a kid it ma feel bleak and frustrating. But it’s honest. SIRIUS BLACK!
The ending to Get Rich or Die Trynin’ (2005) is by far my favorite moment of the film. Bulletproof vest off. Becoming invincible. The main man 50 cent. Shot 9 times. Childhood hero!!! i’ll whip ya head boy!
