A legend of the FBU, Bro Tam McFarlane is standing in the National Officer election. Lets get this party started and keep Tam doing the great work he does for our union. 🫡👊🏽Nomination forms at branches need to be returned. ✊🏽
Members of the FBU , and only members of the FBU, will now make the final decision on this offer. Whatever way is decided, it is our strength & unity that has forced an improved offer, not one single other 'organisation' in the fire and rescue service. Be proud to be FBU ❤️✊️
After long discussions yesterday, fire service employers have confirmed a revised pay offer. 7% backdated to 1 July 2022 and 5% from 1 July 2023.
We will consult members on this and will not call strikes during consultation.
Further information to follow after Executive Council.
What a fitting tribute to our fallen sister on an emotional day for all paying their respects. RIP Sister Lombard 🙏🏽. Remember the dead, and fight like hell for the living.
27 years ago, firefighter Fleur Lombard lost her life in a supermarket fire. She was the first female firefighter to die on duty in peacetime Britain.
#WeRemember her.
Eighteen years ago today, the Harrow Court fire claimed the lives of firefighters Michael Miller and Jeff Wornham.
They put themselves at risk to save others and paid the ultimate price. #WeRemember them.
If money can be found to pay people these kinds of sums to break strikes, it can be found for a decent pay deal.
This is an insult to firefighters who are struggling after more than a decade of falling pay. It is also a terrible use of public money.

🗳️ On Monday, we will get the results of our strike ballot.
If firefighters vote for action, we will see the first national strike on pay since 2003.
After more than a decade of real terms pay cuts, enough is enough.

This is shameful, workers have rights to be protected from occupational disease. Targeted research from @UCLanResearch and @fbunational provides unequivocal evidence to prevent and protect. #DECON
