@nicksortor@RepMTG@mtgreenee There is a lot of misinformation on this thread. The H-1B visa program is not America’s problem with immigration. It’s so limited already on who can get it and how people are selected. As someone working in mnfctring and supports LEGAL immigration, many good companies need H1B.
@jandmplus6 The Church outside of UT is pretty relaxed about whether one serves or not. I grew up in the Midwest, I lived in UT for 5 years before moving back. Outside of UT, people r usually just happy you there. If he has the opportunity, might be worth a try. Peace & blessings, brother.
@nihil_ad_rem@mehdirhasan It may be because that’s where the most elderly people live. The elderly also tend to be more of the Republican voters and are the most vulnerable. That stat doesn’t present the full picture. Less to do with the vaccine and more to do with the most vulnerable, vaccinated or not.
@originalJavaJoe@LDSMormon I wish you the best, brother. I’m not discounting others experiences, I’m only speaking from my own anecdotal experiences. We’re not understanding each other, so we can move on. Take care.
@Brian_Sauve No sleepovers, screen time with family only, discuss what to do if/when it does happen. The risk grows as kids get older and gain independence. Even the most careful homes/families can experience accidental exposure. Especially with ANY form of media, including apps like Spotify
@originalJavaJoe@LDSMormon It’s actually been successful for millions, but you don’t care. I’ve been in the room when it’s happened, and experienced it for myself.
I said read and apply its teachings to your life. People that honestly read, apply, and pray do get answers. Most people don’t really try.
@originalJavaJoe@LDSMormon Sir, you’re always trolling here online, so really put your intellect, curiosity, and integrity to the test. Don’t do it for us though, do it for yourself. Wrestle with it. Wrestle with those doubts/convictions. God lives. The Spirit testifies of truth. Test it.
@Hashboz It’s the sad reality that we live in. A lot of Boomers earned what they have on their own, without help from their parents, so I don’t completely blame them.
@originalJavaJoe@LDSMormon Can be a great way to expand understanding, but the Spirit can reveal things that apply specifically to the individual or that hasn’t been discussed under the scholarly consensus.
Something I’ve always struggled with is the practicalities of relying on Christ. Especially during hard times.
Like I know to give to all to Him, but how exactly?
Can anyone point me to talks or resources?
@IW_Truelight I have had my phone on silence once I realized I wouldn’t remember to turn it off every time I was in a meeting or class. Basically once I became an adult.
