The latest propaganda being regurgitated even by some who know better, is that our interests in dealing with Iran do not necessarily square with Israel's.  We did not hear much of this when Israel and we were fighting side by side in the beginning days of the war with Iran.  Only now where there's disagreement on how to end the war.  And it's a strange line of argument.

Were our interests and Britain's different during WWII, even near the end of the war when Churchill was warning us not to cozy up with Stalin, that he was a brutal liar who wanted to essentially annex Eastern Europe?  Of course not.  And Churchill was right.  FDR and later Truman were wrong.  The ultimate interests were not different.  However, Churchill was right about his assessment while FDR/Truman were wrong.  

Is Israel's desire to eliminate the Iranian regime really different from our interests?  Of course not.  The difference relates to how to accomplish the objective of preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons, long-range ballistic missiles, and funding worldwide terrorism.  Israel believes Iran will never adhere to any deal because it never has and it is ideologically committed to its agenda.  We apparently believe a good deal is possible and enforceable even in the long run.  I personally do not believe that. All the evidence points against that.  But to say our interests are not aligned is absurd.  When you hear people say this, not just online in this toxic environment, but on cable TV and elsewhere, know that they are absurdly wrong when parroting this line.
