@coldlightwalker@SEdgos@OliLondonTV True
But if the worst outcome possible is that it turns out to be a bad movie, then ok, I think I will be able to carry on without too much trouble and hope the rest of the world can do the same
@For_Film_Fans I once worked on a film in London where at lunch, he queued with the rest of the crew and on one particular day he was joined by one of the producers (Spielberg) and the principle cast (Matt Damon)
All just waiting in line with the crew
Never seen anything like it
@bennymichielsen@HistoryPegg Congratulations on showing the tax rebels how to play the game. Well deserved for all manor of reasons and good luck against the Spanish, would love to see you get through and face France on the field once again
@a_aguilos@OliLondonTV While I would partially agree that most studio movies feel obliged to hit the Oscar required criteria, Nolan is given a creative licence that is unique (but not completely free from studio interference, no film is) because his box office as close to guaranteed as it gets
@dpdevins@OliLondonTV I would argue that instead of loosing the plot they have simply handed control to accountants and streaming services to make sure that money can be written off because they can manipulate tax, insurance and stocks to build bigger profits
Batgirl springs to mind
@dpdevins@OliLondonTV Fair point
But this was 100% a vanity project for the Director
My guess is the people with money behind it are hoping to break even but not unhappy with a loss just so long as they are able to invest in his future films where they think they will make money
@BRyvkin Watched it again the other day for the first time in years, stupid and brilliant in equal measure
Had forgotten just how many people die
Sobbed a little when his daughter runs after him
Got annoyed by the historical lies
But loved it
@burkewhy2@OliLondonTV Sure
But in the end (whoever you are) it comes down to like or not like the movie
I live in hope that I will like it, he’s a great Director with a very talented cast
@SEdgos@OliLondonTV No, of course not
If it bombs (and I dont think it will) it will be the Director and Producres fault
I hope is does well, a lot of effort went into making, it employed thousands of people (including myself)
Just not into the hate
@EdwardGLuce UAFA could have said no
I find it difficult to blame Trump for asking the question, its Trump, of course he was going to do that
UAFA are the ones at fault
And I keep saying it…The USA don’t care
