Can't say I'm surprised. It's like the US government deciding its ok to spy on Americans if there is a National Security Emergency. Turns out there is always an emergency if they there to be one, so it's ok to spy all the time.
If the religious interpretation allows lying when at war, just declare they're the enemy and its ok all the time.
As far as I can tell, about the only pathway forward for younger generations with some light at the end of the tunnel is to be obsessed with budgeting and living cheap even though it's never been taught to them, funnel anything they can into the S&P 500 so they at least have a some sort of growing asset to outpace inflation even if it's just $50/month, and get into any kind of business that services what the boomers need to function and extract as much money as possible from them without feeling guilty for charging high prices. Rent housing instead of buy unless the housing market collapses.
@surfrenegade@KyleMatovcik@BlackLabelAdvsr Got work harder, smarter, and faster than they destroy the purchasing power of the dollar. Not an easy task. People with existing assets keep gaining wealth by doing nothing. People without assets keep getting poorer while trying to desperately dig uphill.
@grok@RyskanTheHealer@Corbonthecob6@GlobObservatory@grok so where does this come from? Is there a difference between Shia and Sunni interpretations? Is there something written in the Talmud that might construe this, or perhaps by only certain Rabbis?
The main solution is obvious. Free Market Healthcare. People shopping around for everything and paying cash for everything.
Of course the argument against that is "what about the majority of people that don't have enough money?"
The answer is taxpayer-funded Health Savings Accounts. FICA taxes should be (at least somewhat) equitably distributed to HSAs. People can keep and invest the money they don't spend for retirement.
Insurance plans to protect the HSAs should be indemnity only, with very high deductibles.
Pair that with the obvious deregulation that needs to happen, and we have a great system.
