@CMCampion @morganwx While contractor knowledge is getting better, the building industry is slow to change and I would get a few quotes to see who you are comfortable with. The contractor is just as important as the equipment.

@CMCampion @morganwx If just replacing an AC, a two stage heat pump would be very cost effective using your existing for backup heat. Rebate would be available for AC efficiency.

@CMCampion @morganwx However, if you are replacing the furnace/air handler and ac unit you have a clean slate and the world is your oyster. There are lots of good systems, but less experience on the contractor side.

@EnergyVanguard Completely agree, but it’s kind of a chicken or egg scenario. The trades aren’t doing it because they say there isn’t demand and consumers don’t do it because they can’t find qualified contractors.
