Congratulations to Cohort 1 of our Step Up Program, a feminist project for young women's workforce readiness.
Many thanks to @FesKenya for supporting the Step Up final learning session and certificate Award ceremony through the #GenderJusticeWorkingGroup
Today, we call for stewardship in the management of water, sanitation and hygiene for all, through responsive leadership at both county and national levels. Our thoughts are with all households and work zones affected by the 2026 floods in Kenya #WorldWaterDay#ClimateJustice
It’s World Water Day🌊🥤🚿🚰
This year’s theme #WaterAndGender and slogan - Where water flows, Equality grows; calls for increased action towards access to clean and safe water starting with all households #WorldWaterDay#ClimateJustice 1/3
This year, the water crisis is more complex in Kenya, with many neighborhoods grappling with sewage outbursts, displacement, damaged property, losses and determining clean water sources in the aftermath of the floods.
#WorldWaterDay#ClimateJustice
Lack of water means someone must collect it away from the home, manage and distribute it - and women and girls bear the brunt, at the expense of their school, work and development time🥲

It’s International Women’s Month!
Last week, @UKinKenya hosted women leaders for an International Women’s Day reception graced by HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie Helen.
In her very remarkable speech, HRH emphasized the need to ‘Move from Intent to Action’ in tackling the worrying cases of gender based violence (GBV) and advocating for women and girls.
She aptly noted “women’s bodies shouldn’t be a battleground, they shouldn’t be seen as disposable” and I couldn’t agree more at a time when daily posts on @usikimye platforms remind us of the troubling trend of women and girls losing their lives to femicide. Indeed, we must move from intent to action.
May this month inspire more action in creating safer, inclusive and feminist communities in the many years to come.
Grateful for my #Chevening community through which I get to engage in such meaningful conversations.

Healthcare should be a place of safety, trust, and dignity. At the Center, we are working to transform systems so that adolescent girls’ and young women can access the care they need without barriers, stigma, or discrimination.
Join us tomorrow, 25th February 2026, for Her Health Project Launch, an initiative aimed at strengthening access to quality reproductive healthcare for adolescent girls’ and young women in Kenya.

@Zamara_fdn joined the Kenya Stakeholders’ Coalition on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR Kenya), convened by the @EACHRights for a courtesy call and engagement meeting on Kenya’s 4th Cycle UPR.
We focused on strengthening accountability for recommendations on Women’s Rights, SRHR, Health, and Child Rights. We also raised urgent concerns on Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV), calling for stronger policy, digital safety frameworks, and accountability mechanisms to address emerging online harms affecting women and girls in all their diversities.
The @HakiKNCHR reaffirmed its commitment to continued partnership with civil society to advance human rights and drive implementation of UPR recommendations in Kenya.
Season’s greetings🎄
As the year ends, we celebrate the young women, girls & communities at the heart of @DadapowerKE . Thank you for your trust, strength & collective power.
We hope the season brings you rest & joy. Wishing you a joyful holiday season & a hopeful new year 💜
3) AI isn’t root of harm, people are. Let’s practice digital mindfulness. Grateful to our speakers @_WanjiruGichuki , @2jaff &moderator @Edith_Machar for powerful insights.
Forever in solidarity with survivors, victims & all working to end forms of GBV. #TFGBV is real violence.
1) Digital misogyny is no longer a threat, it is today’s reality. As discussed on our recently held X-Space, fast-evolving tech offers opportunity, but also serious cyber risks if not used with caution.

2) Key takeaways:
a) Protect your digital life. Secure devices &accounts.
b) Don’t overshare. What you post can be used against you.
c) Use AI for good. Verify info & promote gender-just tech.
d) Platforms must act. Ease reporting, be accountable.
e) Keep learning digital safety.
What are some of the gender-just approaches to making the internet safer for all users? How can we leverage AI for digital safety? What tips can young people use to make good use of digital spaces?
Join us tomorrow as we discuss this!

#16DaysOfActivism
South Africa declared GBV & Femicide a National Disaster after women staged a historic national shutdown. Their resistance echoes a global truth: femicide is a crisis everywhere.
We stand in solidarity with every woman protesting, healing, resisting & demanding justice.
#EndGBV

The world is digital. The present & future are digital. But what’s the point in talking about the future if digital spaces are unsafe?
As we mark #16DaysOfActivism we join all actors in saying no to all forms of TF-GBV.
Hey Nuru Fam!
The 16 Days of Activism Against GBV started yesterday, on 25th November, launching a global call to action to end all forms of violence against women and girls. This year’s theme — “Unite to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls”
#16DaysOfActivism#EndGBV
As #16DaysOfActivism begin, we stand with every woman reclaiming her power. Digital spaces must be sites of liberation. This year’s theme affirms that digital safety is feminist safety.
A safe digital world is possible & a feminist one is necessary.
