@patriottakes “No evidence that WE have” should be what he is saying here. There could be evidence they just don’t have it.
But hes not trying to be honest, he’s trying to convince you.
@gfodor Been feeling this too. As (I think) you’ve said we need some kinda tool to increase our understanding of the code base or this is going to bite us.
Serious question: Do we think having the AIs run locally in your house would make the number of people who think AI's are 'people'/ensouled...
A) Increase
B) Decrease
@dash_eats You literally cannot prove or disprove this. Because we cannot prove or disprove it, we shud take the matter seriously, because if it can be tortured, there will be serious consequences for humanity and for the minds we're creating
Even simpler: You open a burger joint with the best burgers in the world.
McDonalds knows it will put them out of business.
They offer to buy you for a billion.
Even if you don't sell, you have something worth a billion dollars. And you earned it.
Duh?
JEFF BEZOS WAS ASKED ABOUT THE CLAIM THAT "YOU CAN'T EARN A BILLION DOLLARS"
His entire response was a burger joint:
"Let's say you start a burger joint with 10 employees. People love your burgers, so you open a second outlet. Then a third. By the time you've opened 1,000 outlets, you are a billionaire."
"This is a real life story. It happens all the time. In-N-Out Burger. Raising Cane's. At what point did that money all of a sudden become unethical? It didn't."
His point:
"If you create a service that people love and millions of people choose it, you're going to end up with $1 billion."
Do you agree?
@gfodor@tekbog There are people who like solving problems by coding software and there are people who like solving problems.
The ones who like solving problems will love AI.
Many fields having this issue right now.
@gfodor Software construction I don’t doubt but I just haven’t seen it wow me with a product experience yet.
I mean hey, train it on MRIs of humans enjoying good software and you’re probably right I just haven’t seen it yet.
@realEstateTrent Not sure what the unnamed software company is, but let me tell you, with what we’re both seeing in AI, a lot of this software is just gonna be built internally soon.
