Why not create a Club Community Fund? Add an optional 50p or £1 to match entry, have a collection bucket on matchdays, and let anyone who wants to contribute do so. Small amounts soon add up.
The money isn’t for one player, it’s a hardship fund. If a genuine case comes up like this, the club can confidentially cover their subs, kit or other football costs. If it isn’t needed that season, it simply rolls over and grows.
That way the club isn’t expected to fund it themselves, no one is singled out, and supporters get the chance to help someone stay involved with football. Sometimes a few hundred people giving a pound each can make all the difference to one young person’s season.
